Collaboration with the artist Laurent Martin
Second gesture in the series Latest specimens – produced in collaboration with the artist Laurent Martin – these wooden cetacean skeletons, from old cider barrels, are partially covered with wool dyed with tea and coffee grounds. Driven by the excesses of trade and fishing to fail on our lands, these vestiges are other characters of dystopia at stake in the artist’s work. Adorned with rhinestones, like so many sparkling drops of water, they seem to be asleep, moving only according to the lights of the exhibition scenography. Shadow games that give these sculptures, lazily strewn over the ground in their last positions, the appearance of ghostly carcasses.
