Nebula x Cosmos Serenade

Biwako Biennale International Art Festival, Omihachiman, September/November 2025.

Cosmos Serenade is the prelude to a series of short films that form an ode to attention. Combined with the film screening, Nebula is a participatory and evolving site-specific installation.

The works invite us to refine our gaze each day, to reconnect consciously with our senses. Composed of a roll of Japanese paper, everyone is invited to co-create this work, a film that unfolds throughout the exhibition. Visitors take up the tools: bobbins formerly used for lacemaking, combined with needles of varying diameters.

Encouraging participation in this way also reveals the extent of the connections: between the visible and the intangible; and the light of each of our gazes that matters.
